When I decided to try Island Peak Climbing, I had so many questions. One big question was, “Can I really reach the top?” I found out that the success rate for Island Peak Climbing is about 85% to 90% for those who are well-prepared. That gave me a lot of hope! Island Peak stands at 6,189 meters (20,305 feet), and it is one of the most popular trekking peaks in Nepal.

Every year, around 3,000 people try to climb Island Peak. Most of them make it because the climb is tough but not too technical. You do need to use ropes, harnesses, and crampons, but you don’t have to be a professional climber. Good training, proper acclimatization, and a strong will make a big difference. I also learned that if you spend a few extra days adjusting to the high altitude, your chance of reaching the top goes way up.

For me, standing on the summit of Island Peak was a dream come true. The view of Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and the surrounding peaks was something I will never forget. If you are fit, love adventure, and prepare well, Island Peak Climbing can be an amazing and successful journey for you too!
